What is Hot Yoga?

Hot yoga is simply yoga performed in a heated room. Performing yoga in the heat is a practice that is becoming ever more celebrated, popularized by a variety of styles of hatha yoga.


Why do Hot Yoga?

The heat allows you to move deeper into postures, decreasing resistance to movement
Increased blood flow to all parts of the body
Sweating creates detoxification


 

 

Types of Hot Classes


Series Classes (Traditional Hot & Mukti)
Traditional Hot and Mukti are our signature series classes.  A repetition of carefully sequenced held classic poses brings understanding, strength and flexibility in a full body experience. This all –levels class initiates the beginner while still challenging the practiced yogi in the room. The room is heated to 39 degrees, so don’t forget your water.


Flow Yoga
Flow classes incorporate Vinyasa and Ashtanga styles that link one pose to the next with your breath.  You will experience Sun Salutations and other flows to loosen the boundaries of your practice.  Each class combines unique sequences and is an excellent way to bring strength, flexibility and balance to your yoga practice. The temperatures in this class is 34 degrees.

 

Ashtanga Flow

Ashtanga Flow is the foundational practice of vinyasa or flow yoga that integrates breath with movement through a set sequence of postures. This class emphasizes the traditional Ashtanga yoga primary series with a fluid, continuous flow, making it accessible to both beginners and advanced practitioners. Each session focuses on building strength, flexibility, and stamina while cultivating mindfulness through synchronized breath and movement. Expect a vigorous workout that combines the discipline of Ashtanga with the dynamism of vinyasa, leading to a balanced and invigorating practice. The temperatures in this class is 34 degrees.


Hot Classic Hatha
Hot Hatha classes are a great way to understand the principles of yoga.  Classes are based on themes and bring deeper understanding of your body and your practice. Hatha instructors hold poses to allow exploration and knowledge to initiate discovery of your personal edge. These crafted classes appeal to all levels and is held in a 39 degree room.

 

HOT Deep Stretch THIS IS NOT A YIN CLASS

In Hot Deep stretch we do the ground work to open the body before incorporating in Deep, strong Peak poses. Each Class has 1-2 Deep Peak poses we work towards. Classes are themed to have the same peak pose for each month to allow the student an opportunity to see progress in their practice. In Hot Deep Stretch We find the balance between Challenge and Ease, allowing you to leave feeling like you got the best of both worlds. The room is heated to 39 degrees. 

 

Community Classes

Community Classes are led by New Teachers from our recent Yoga Teacher Training . Community Classes are designed to allow New Teachers an opportunity to practice and refine their teaching abilities. The Class styles will range from Hatha to Vinyasa Flow. $10 Drop in, or use your membership.

 

Class Types at Room Temperature

 

Yin Yoga

Yin is a slower practice which targets joints, tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body. Each posture is held for long periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues, leaving the yogi with an overall feeling of lightness, spaciousness and peace. This class is great for all levels including athletes looking for a focused stretch experience.


Yin to Nidra

This marriage is made in heaven. Yin poses to start the class to bring deep opening into the joints and flexibility into the muscles followed by Yoga Nidra (Yoga Sleep). Nidra is a guided systematic relaxation of the mind and body to bring deep stress relief and subconscious balancing. Your mind and body will both feel lighter with this experience.


Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props.  The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body.  While some restorative yoga poses are beneficial to the entire body, others target specific parts of the body, such as the heart or lungs.  Attend this class and you will watch your stress float away. 

 

Classic Hatha

Classic Hatha classes are a great way to understand the principles of yoga.  Classes are based on themes and bring deeper understanding of your body and your practice. Hatha instructors hold poses to allow exploration and knowledge to initiate discovery of your personal edge. These room temperature classes appeal to all levels.

 

Gentle Hatha

This class is about creating balance, energy flow and relaxation. This class will include mediation, gentle Hatha Asana ,and restorative postures . Gentle Hatha is the perfect class to help you slow down and relax.

 

Hatha to Yin

Hatha to Yin offers the perfect pairing of movement, strength and stretch. This room temperature offering starts with classic hatha poses sequenced around a theme for body awareness. The class then melts down to long holds of deep mindful yin stretches providing the optimal atmosphere to work on flexibility. All levels and all flex-abilities will thrive in this offering.
