Prenatal Yoga

Vanessa Brown

Vanessa is a certified Holistic Doula with 300 hours of training and over 5 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, childbirth and into the early days of parenthood. She also recently completed 85 hours of Prenatal Yoga Teacher training with Semperviva. Combing her two passions, women’s wellness and yoga, Vanessa weaves prenatal education and doula wisdom into each of her classes. You can expect to receive far more than just a yoga class modified for pregnancy.
“If I have learned anything through my experiences as a doula it is that birth forces you to deeply connect to and surrender to your body. To deeply trust in its’ abilities and your baby’s abilities but when do we ever do that in our normal day-to-day lives? As a culture we disconnect from and undervalue our amazing bodies. Through my experience as a yogi, yoga is the perfect vehicle to facilitate a new, healthy connection to ourselves and our bodies. When this connection is integrated into our everyday lives it becomes much easier to trust and surrender during our birthing time. We actively participate in the birthing journey instead of fight it. With this practice we can reduce stress and discomfort in pregnancy, have easier more satisfying birthing experiences with healthier outcomes and discover tools that support us during our transformation into parenthood. Who wouldn’t want all of that?”
