As a precursor to the Higher Learning Weekend Course, join Bram as he sets the tone for the rest of the weekend with a dharma talk focusing on how to make sense of crazy times, followed by a Nidra Flow class pairing vinyasa with iRest Yoga Nidra meditation. All levels of students welcome.

SATURDAY 9:30am-12:00pm - The Power Of Intention
Attention to Intention, Dharma (Bhagavad Gita/Ramayana), Mythology of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, The Hero's Journey, Acceptance (Sloka from Bhagavad Gita "I am weak-minded"), Attachment without expectation (impossible to not attach to loved ones, HOPE by making plans and attaching to those plans without expectation of how it will go (my retreats), Avoidance, Judgement, Boundaries, things feed you good energy or bad and sometimes you need to trust your intuition, LOVE responsibly and love those because of their quirks and not in spite of them.

Shift away from fear, literal lens to spiritual, Sutras 2.7/2.8 as follow-up to Attachment/Avoidance & used as example of moving away from natural state of awareness!!!, collaboration & cooperation, Upanishad w/ Svetaketu, Astavakra Gita, Underlying principles of iRest, Spiritual Understanding of Self, iRest Practice

SUNDAY 9:30am-12:00pm - The Power of Thought
We will discuss the aspects of the human experience that we often get stuck in, and how to get unstuck from them. We will discuss the tension of opposites, identify what some common opposites are that we tend to experience, we will do a great meditation observing the sensations in the body associated to the opposites and how they lead to the emotions that motivate our behaviours, we will discuss the chakras, go over sutras from the Ashtanga Sutras that offer us insight into how to work with the opposites, discuss cognitive behavioural theory and discuss examples of how this can help us change our thought patterns. We will also explore techniques from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
Weekend of Higher Learning - Sunday Afternoon
SUNDAY 1:30pm-4:30pm - The Power of Time
We will recap the weekend, do a mindblowing meditation together that will further demonstrate how the spiritual/energetic experience is at work at the same time as the literal, human experience, we will discuss philosophies related to time and examine how to spend it mindfully, explore our relationships with time, discuss how universal laws affect our experience of life and how by remembering them we can use our time more wisely, we will discuss death and watch an interview with my teacher Joan, who passed away earlier this year. We will finish off with an iRest Yoga Nidra meditation.
